Muses?
By definition, a muse is an inspiration that comes to an artist.
Moving in to NYC has been both a curse and a blessing. If I thought I dealt with mere loneliness (외로움) in college, I now deal with an extreme degree of that here in NYC– it is called ‘solitude’ (고독함).
In order to deal with the orders following solitude– as known as depression– not only have I been cooking a lot but also I have been trying to visit Central Park and just walk around observing people. I do that daily for about an hour, while wearing SPF 70 sunblock for protection and with my sunglasses covering half of my tiny face.
Also, on my daily rides on the subway, I run into people of the city who are… well, caricatures of themselves.
Therefore, all the people who will walk past by the performing artist and his invisible friend will all be drawn from real life moments– sort of as memory tributes to the life walking by me in NYC. Since it is going to be almost a visual recording, drawn from real characters, it is almost like a short documentary of the quirky people of NYC.
